Ewan Cromwell INT: 41
Ewan finds himself unable to hazard an uneducated guess, so he simply whips out his smartphone and Googles 'Yorick Vaughn Conqueror'. Among a string of references to the occupation, Ewan spots a curious entry. Yorick Vaughn, in his college days, studied American poetry, and wrote various essays. One of these essays is an analysis of Edgar Allan Poe's Conqueror Worm. It only takes a second search to confirm that Poe's poem opens with the words written on the wall.

Ewan first attempted to input the written verses of the poem, doubtful, but possible.

Ewan realizes as he enters as he enters the password what a terrible error he has made. Someone as brilliant as Vaughn would never have written his password on the wall like that. The hologram projectors powers up immediately while the screen itself powers down.
"Don't bother teleporting, Mister Wick." The voice was old and sounded like death's taxman. Ewan turns to learn the late Doctor has left a surprise for intruders. He seemed even older than in the photographs, and certainly thinner, his lifesize hologram reminding Ewan more of a ghost than a recording. "I've converted the equipment into a tachyon field detector and explosive device. The moment you attempt to activate your gift, this house will become your smoking grave. I have already bought the next few miles pf land, so thankfully, no lives will be lost but yours..."

Kiyiya cracked his beak against the glass a few times, trying to get the attention of either of the occupants without ruining the appearance of a bird.

Ewan, aware of his current predicament, yet also quite unaware, decided to see if the hologram had anything else to say, momentarily looking to where he saw a bird tapping on the window. At this point, he considered his options, powers were probably a bad idea, as he did not know if the field responded to specific powers of this wick, or the source in general. Further there was little use for Morphic resonance in his current situation. He then looked at the bird once again, as it kept tapping, before looking around the room again, considering if he could get the hard drive out of the PC before leaving. He then wondered if there was anything stopping him from just leaving the house without using powers at all, then looking at the window again, as he realized the bird was still tapping on the window, and began actually focusing on said bird.

Kiyiya cawed once or twice, twisting his head to stare at Ewan with a single eye before tapping the glass again.

It takes Ewan only three seconds to kneel down and disarm the bomb via disconnecting it from the computer. It takes another second to realize Kikiya is a Starborn, either via possession or direct control, and another two seconds to realize the proper password was more likely 'Wormhole'. not 'Worm' or any specific line in the poem, by studying the art more carefully. Meanwhile, the hologram continues its eulogy.
"Before you meet your maker, I just want you to know... the perfect circle can be broken." Then the hologram blinks out of existence, along with what Vaughn presumed to be this 'Mister Wick' and a few miles of real estate. The room is dark again.

With the threat dealt with, Ewan walked over to the window, opening it to let in this new arrival. "Feel free to transform as you please", he said before walking back and getting to work opening the side of the computer, so as to get at the hard drive.

"Well doctor Vaughn mentioned some Mr Wick, then tried to blow the house up" Ewan said as he opened the case, momentarily looking at the shapeshifter, trying to get what information he could based on analysis. (INT 10)

Ewan could deduce that the stranger of Native American stock, very likely the local Okwaho tribe judging by clothing and accent. Beyond that, there were only a few parties that could currently be interested in investigating Yorick Vaughn's residence.
The first was Hans Willingham himself, who could be ruled out. The second was the U.S. government, who infamously did not employ Starborn, and it was highly unlikely a Native American of any tribe would work for them. The third was the mysterious Mr. Wick, which remained altogether possible. The final option was Trustwell, who would have a vested interest in keeping possible rogue wormhole use out of the public eye. They were also already known to employ to Starborn under complex legal loopholes that were akin to indentured servitude.
Of the two choices, Trustwell seemed the more reliable guess, until this 'Wick' person could be investigated further. If so, it was likely he was under orders to remove any possible witnesses who might connect Trustwell to this case, and Ewan would be better served playing dumb.

Kiyiya sees a white dude, with an accent that sounds kind of British. Maybe.

"Not a thing" Ewan said, "Though I hope with some work I can find out, sounds like quite the mystery" he added as he approached, offering a hand. "Ewan Darrel, detective by hobby" he said, offering his hand.
