"Scotch" she said, over pronouncing the tch, making her lips pout. "What is your favourite colour?"

"Ultramarine. What do you find most disturbing about America since you arrived?"

"the discrimination" she said, still sounding sweet, "That's an odd colour, most guys I have met would say blue, but I like that," she grinned and took a sip of the drink he got her.
"Are you, seeing anyone?"

"No. She wanted more, I asked her to wait, and she decided she couldn't." He sipped his drink. "I assume you mean the Starborn. It's true, America has always been somewhat... neglectful when it comes to children. Most of America views them the way Britain treats its monarchy. Great for tabloids, better for socially conscious discussions, but easily forgotten after the next commercial break. Only here, in Ambrosia, are we face-to-face with them."
He ordered her a scotch. "What do you do for a living?"

"I am... currently between jobs" she said with a sigh, "I used to work for my father, but now... well, I think everyone wants to see if they can make it away from their family" she smiled over at him.
She looked down at the drink and smelt it, "Balvenie... matured for... seventeen... eighteen maybe. You can tell because it smells woody... from the casks," she took a wip, "Ah I was right, there is the destint apple after taste. Very nice."
"Boring question, but what do you do?"

"I already answered that one." He raised an inquiring eyebrow. "I'm a lawyer and consultant for Trustwell. I guess you could call me a lobbyist. I insure continuity of intent between the various parties in Ambrosia we deal with. City Hall, law enforcement, the Army National Guard in Fort Kirby. Trustwell has been in Ambrosia for a long time now." He swirled his drink. "Are you seeing anyone?"

She shook her head slowly, "I only meant for you to go into more detail, there are all sorts of lawyers and consultants, even in business." She smiled cursing for asking a question he'd answered, even if she had not asked the question.
"I am not seing anyone, I just arrived... thought I should make some friends out of the gate." She looked down at his swirling drink... "Were you seeing the woman who could not take things slow for long?"

"About two years. I had a wife once, but she passed away. Car crash. No children." He sipped his scotch. "If you had a superpower, what would it be?"

"What super power?" She asked, looking up and thinking... She decided to answer the question in terms of power she did not already have. "I would like to read minds... Have telepathy" she said, smiling, "so I can see if people are lying to me, what they really think of, "what is your favourite food?"

"I think you'd grow jaded with telepathy at some point. And I like seafood in general. Everything came from the sea. at some point." He ordered another scotch.
"How do you hope this night will end?"

"No real expectations... Hopefully with a new friend, but I try not to plan things like this " she admitted with a smile, "being jaded can be the price of truth. Do you think it would be worth it?"

"The truth?" He considered the question. "I think it can be, if you have a greater purpose beyond curiosity. Sometimes, we need to know more, so we can do more. But do you really need to know which of your friends your lover fantasizes about, or whether your parents considered aborting you? No. There are some things we are better off not knowing about, so we can lead healthy lives." He sipped his drink. "What's your worst vice?"

"Pride" Rory said truthfully, of both herself and her guise. "Though it would be untrue to say it was my only one.
She paused for a long moment thinking on her question, "what did yiu come here looking for?" It was a very different question than where he expected their little chef to end.

"Companionship. Well, certainly sex, but a good conversation can be even better. And sometimes, we make lasting connections in the most unlikely of ways." He smiled at her. "Do you enjoy the thrill of having power over another human being?"

"Do I look like someone who has experienced that?" She asked, dodging while also asking her own.
