Despite the ostentatious name, the building no longer the high-end living spot it once was, if it ever was. There was visible water damage in the hallway, and at least one door had signs of breaking and entering. Apartment 36 though was quite pristine. It seemed to have at least two bedrooms, a decent common area, and a perfectly functional kitchen. The window looked down on the street below, though all the curtains were still shut.
"Wow... not the dump I was expecting. Lemme check the kitchen while you get set up, Ror."

Rory had managed to keep her opinons of the place off her face when she arrived, but could not help but look relieved when the flat was not an absolutely dump. It did not compare to say, Eaton Hall, or their flat in Lowndes Square, but really, it was not the dive she imagined from the facade of the building.
Rory was already a nickname, not that the other knew that, she was not sure how she felt about having it shortened even more, but was far to polite to mention it, she would suffer Ror to the grave.
She took the smaller of the two rooms, as was only proper, and settled in, unpacking the few clothes she had, but keeping most of her things in her bag for a quick exit.
Now safely inside, she took her cap off, and left it on the bed, unleashing the impressive colouring of her hair, then returned to the kitchen, to see Joan.

It did not take Rory to notice the discrepancies. This was someone's apartment, yet there no pictures, no films or games, no knick-knacks lying about, not a single hint that anyone had ever thought of this place as a home. A brief investigation of the closet revealed a set of outfits for both genders, labelled in varying sizes. Aurora's training filled in the blanks.
This was a safehouse.

After processing the information, Rory still went in search of Joan again.
"so..." she said upon entering the kitchen, "what is it your cousin does." her smile is present and she keeps suspicion out of her voice.

Aurora is greeted by Joan and a pair of men in jogging suits. The men had the look of field agents and were guarding the door, armed with what seemed to be electric rods. Joan quipped, in a much more authentic English accent, "Oh love... didn't the government lads teach you a nickname isn't the same as a proper alias?"
One of the thugs moved towards Aurora, rod in hand.

Rory did not hesitate. She could mock all she wanted.
After dodging the swipe, Aurore called upon the power of her father, and locked eyes with the man, using her Force skills to increase the pull of gravity upon the man, and cave in his skull.
She did not want her time wasted anymore. So much for keeping a low profile during the investigation.

The agent's head and form becomes goo on the floor. The other thug doesn't even attempt to take his place, but 'Joan Candle' stepped towards her, her figure charged with electricty. "I just want you to know that the fact I actually am Starborn doesn't make your earlier question any less stupid, you dozy bint!"

Rory can feel her body shaking and losing control as her enemy grabs hold. The Source will allow her one more ploy before she goes unconscious.

Rory grins despite the power on her, and decided to match fire with fire. She could not out muscle anyone else, but she was fairly confident she could hold her own in a battle of the forces.
She tensed her hands and used her own powers, decided to shy away from electricity as she presumed the woman was especially skilled with it, and instead chose to once again call upon gravity to aid her. She did not want to kill the other this time, and instead tried only to turn her unconscious.

Joan buckled under the weight, cracks forming in the tiles beneath her. She was much stronger than she looked, screaming as she forced herself to stand. Rory felt her touch slip from her as she fell to her knees, gritting her teeth.
The second man, believing he could do some good, charged at Rory.

Rory had rather had enough now, and jumped backwards, using her favourite force, light, to stop light waves reaching the eyes of the people who attacked her, rendering them blind, so that she may deal with them on better footing.

Her opponents are blinded, but diverting her attention has allowed a dazed Joan to regain her footing. The tiles have gone from cracking to melting, as her personal field begins to expend outward. Her companion is caught in the wave and screams to no avail. She is clearly trying to strike at Rory, despite not being able to pinpoint her location. The electric bubble will fill in the room in three seconds if Rory if is not both clever and swift.

Rory decides that answer are not worth her life, and summons gravity again, to crush the woman, while moving towards the door, not wanting to be caught again by electricity.

Joan Candle, or whatever her name is, is unable to pursue Rory as she flees the apartment, still held under by the force of Aurora's will. A stray lightning bolt obliterates one of the apartment walls near Rory, and likely anyone who was behind it. Behind her, Rory can hear her enemy's roar of defiance. "I will find you, Aurora Hamilton, and I will boil your fucking eyes out, you hear me, you poxy bitch?!"

"It's Aurore," she yelled back in a pleasant voice, and went outside the apartment across the street down an ally, waiting for Joan candle to leave, using her light force powers, to bend light round her, so she was invisible to those around her.

The apartment burns in the electrical fire sparked by Candle. Soon, residents are gathering in the street to flee the inexplicable inferno as it spreads. It's not long before a fire truck arrives along with police officers.

Rory, despite her training, does not recognize her enemy among the crowd. She is confident enough in her abilities to know that Candle, or whatever her name was, had taken an alternate route.
