Name: (The game is set in America for reference, but your character can be of any ethnicity or raised in a different country before arriving. You were raised as humans, so please use common sense.)
Age: (Up to 25)
Nationality: (A lot of countries don't consider Starborn to be even human, and thus deny them rights. In the U.S., states tend to identify them differently, but the federal government does not recognize any Starborn as American citizens.)
Biography: (The game is 2074, 25 years after the Vriskae arrived and 15 years after they left. Some characters may have even had memorable relationships with their Vriska parent. When the Vriskae left, so did all of their agents. Otherwise, have fun.)
Might:
Speed:
Intellect:
Finesse:
Source:
Players are given 25 points to distribute among their abilities. Might, Speed, and Intellect are exactly what they sound like. Finesse determines a character's dexterity, agility, and ability to coordinate their abilities, and is highly recommended in conjunction with the first two physical abilities, depending on character type. These four stats require a single point in each. There is a max of 10 in all stats except Source.
'Source' describes the extent of a character's ability to distort reality in their favor. Every Starborn is linked to a certain facet of the Source, and is able to call upon profound abilities. Please note that things like superstrength, superspeed, genius, and crazy ninja-like reflexes are products of the other four stats. Also note that there is no minimum of points to be distributed in Source.
Players are required to stick at least a single point in the first four stats. Source can be ignored altogether. Note that a 1 denotes a distinct enfeeblement, 3 a standard human aptitude, and 5 the peak of human skill in that ability. 6 or above is superhuman. Source points have no such scale of comparison, obviously.
If you choose to put points in Source, you should also select a Facet. This denotes the nature of your character's powers. You will then choose a Specialty, i.e. a certain ability you can perform much more reduced difficulty.
Facets
Mind (Telepathy, dreams, control, illusions)
Forces (Electricity, fire, gravity, heat, kinetic energy, light, magnetism, nuclear radiation, sound, physics, weather)
Life (Disease, evolution, healing, metamorphosis)
Matter (Telekinesis, transmutation, elemental control)
Space (Dimension shifting, direction finding, spatial location, scrying, teleportation)
Time (Temporal scrying, time travel, time loops, temporal acceleration/deceleration) (Only available with a very impressive biography and a lot of OOC discussion)
Example:
Smokin' Ted
Might: 6
Speed: 4
Intellect: 3
Finesse: 7
Source: 5
Facet: Forces>Fire
Ted can, with enough effort, effect electricity or gravity, but will much more easily rely on Fire. The higher his dice pool in Source, the more easily he can call on alternate abilities in time of need. Ted, howver, will simply never be able to read minds or teleport. He simply does not have access to that facet of the Source.
