Otto was born a second son from the sordid love affair of a Vriskae agent and a German butchers wife. This relationship unbeknownst to the butcher resulted in both Otto and his brother. The boys were never mistreated by their step father on the pretense that Otto and his twin brother Alfons were both actually his. This charade lasted until Otto developed his source powers fighting a school bully in his first year of Hauptschule, on this occasion his gift awake and he accidently turned the bully into a large rock statue. Unknowing how to turn the kid back he fled school and tried to hide at home when the authorities came for him. Instead of facing the punishment for the crime he ran away from home, not knowing where to go he fled to a nearby forest that him and his brother used to play. He was cradled in the bough of a tree when his brother found him. Having confronted their mother after Otto had left Alfons learned that the both of them where the spawn of a Vriskae who their mother had fallen in love with, the two brothers knowing that they could not return home fled their home city of Rothenburg, it was during these travels that the two brothers made their way to America. They grew up in different interment camps for starborn where they learned to defend themselves from more vicious older starborn and developed their skills. Otto and his brother joined along with a starborn activist group that was prone to violence to get what they wanted. While hanging out with the group the brothers felt a sense of pride on becoming more and more radical towards ending the bigotry towards starborn they left the group after a massive altercation took place where the group wanted to send Alfons into a registration building and blow it up. After leaving the group the brothers cut ties with their remaining friends who remained radical and joined a passing security group to make a living using their experience in the activist group to help defend against other radical groups. While Otto developed his power over the source, Alfons was the better fighter between the two of them being faster and more graceful then his brother who liked to run around turning shit into things. One of these jobs had them fighting against another starborn, they won due to having the both of them fighting against one. But the victory came at a price as Otto lost his arm during the fight. Finding a doctor to fix him with an amputee, Otto has since gone around mutating his arm to fit his needs should a situation require the need. Usually though he keeps the arm as a metal limb fused onto his body through his power.
